About Going Deeper

Going Deeper stands out from the rest of Teichert's Connectivity series thanks to its unique orientation, which gives the piece a strong sense of downward movement, like falling or sinking beneath the surface. Unlike some of her other works where the central orb rises and seems ready to burst with energy, here the orb feels heavier and more grounded, gently settling into the deep blue background.

A flowing line—one of Teichert’s signature elements—moves through the painting much like a smooth sine wave, creating a sense of rhythm and connection across the series. Sometimes it runs along what feels like a horizon; other times, it forms into a glowing orb that seems to echo something vast and distant, like a planet seen through a telescope.

Alice Teichert, RCA, was born in Paris, France, in 1959. She studied music, philosophy and visual arts in Belgium and France. Since 1989, she has built an international career with over 40 solo exhibitions in Canada, France, Switzerland, Germany and Australia.
The recipient of numerous awards, in 2024, she was inducted into the prestigious Royal Academy of Canadian Arts (RCA) in recognition of her exceptional contribution to the visual arts. Alice Teichert’s paintings are held in many private, corporate and public collections worldwide.
