About A Vast Valley with Yellow

The expressive minimalist paintings of Aron Hill find inspiration in organic natural forms. The Calgary artist’s compositions are often bold in colour—yellow, red, orange, bright pink, deep blue and black. Hill’s landscapes are imaginative, joyful. The world is rarely seen in black and white. The iconic modernist work of Canadian Jack Bush and Matisse—the famed French Post-Impressionist count among Hill’s artistic influences.

They obtained a BFA in Interdisciplinary Studies from the Alberta College of Art and Design and their MFA from Goldsmiths College, University of London in 2006. They have exhibited across Canada and in Dubai. Hill’s work is held in private and corporate collections.
