About Canoe Lips 15/50
Toronto Pop Artist Charles Pachter is known for his clever and engaging work that celebrates iconic Canadian images. The canoe…overturned on a dock says, ‘summer at the lake’ and this bright red version, amusingly, does look like freshly painted red lips. The frame is uncluttered and bordered by navy blue, black walls of the boathouse, a patch of bright blue sky in the background and a graying dock. Lithograph number 15 of 50.“High School. Grade nine in Toronto. I got a D- in art from Ms. Hutchins.” Charles Pachter
A painter, printmaker, sculptor, designer, and author, Pachter is a graduate of the University of Toronto and the Sorbonne-Paris. He is an Officer of the prestigious Order of Canada, a Chevalier of France's Ordre des Arts et des Lettres, and twice a recipient of the Queen's Jubilee medal. He has honorary doctorate degrees from the Ontario College of Art & Design, the University of Toronto, and Brock University. His paintings are in public and private collections around the world.
