About Grey Barn, Charlevoix 4/4
This pop art print is a colorful image of a barn created by Charles Pachter.Charles Pachter is a much-admired Canadian artistic polymath, his colourful artwork merging playful even irreverent elements with deeply iconic imagery.
Barns are among many images Pachter has represented –this print is inspired by a barn seen in the beautiful and historic Charlevoix region of Quebec. Its classic silhouette is outlined in red, the barn itself in shadow and light appears as pale grey and blue. It is set amidst rolling hills—a mix of blues all against a bright blue sky. The form is simple, and the color palette characteristic of Pachter’s love of bold colors.
“….I came to appreciate this gregarious, talented man’s art. In the painted passages, a profoundly rich, poetic, visual mind is exposed for the curious and imaginative viewer to enter and explore. “ Tom Smart, writer, art museum curator
