About Don't Let Them Burst Your Bubble: Clear III

This contemporary glass wall sculpture was created by Cheryl Wilson Smith. Fourteen blown clear glass bubbles—some full, some deflated and pierced with iron nails create a dynamic composition. Light naturally shines through the glass and forms shadows as the bubbles appear to float across the wall. The Canadian artist has named this piece after a popular colloquial expression. One of a series.

Cheryl Wilson Smith was the 2014 winner of the RBC Award for Glass through the Canadian Clay and Glass Gallery. Wilson-Smith has received nine grants from the Ontario Arts Council and one from the Canada Council. Commissions include the Red Lake District Heritage Centre and Margaret Cochenor Memorial Hospital Donor Wall. Her work has been exhibited widely across Canada, in the UK and the US.
