About Ebo
This powerful and haunting life-sized mask by Dale Dunning is cast in bronze and sits on its own pedestal. Dunning uses the head as a metaphor for the human experience. This mask, imprinted with a pattern of dotted lines appears to resemble a Nigerian Igbo mask traditionally created to honour female ancestors. This is number three in an edition of 7, signed by the artist..“The thing I like about the head is it sort of encompasses what we are. We live in our heads…I use the head as a container to suggest what’s percolating underneath.”
