About Red Phone
A bright red rotary phone sits on a turquoise-green cabinet, paper notes randomly taped to the wall, paint-peeling in this nostalgic trompe l’oeil by Dmitry Yuzefovich. His work is a ‘representation of memory’--the recollection of moments from the past.“I continue to use my realistic style because I believe in the details. Details are God. Details talk to people. My realistic style is my language.” Dmitry Yuzefovich
Born in Ukraine, Yuzefovich obtained a BFA from the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem, Israel in 2000 and an MFA in 2005. He moved to Canada with his family in 2015 and lives in Nova Scotia. Yuzefovich has exhibited in solo and group exhibitions. His paintings have been collected in Israel, Canada, the US, England and Europe.
