About Popsicle Stand
This contemporary minimalist painting is by Pat Service. The remarkable career of Canadian artist Pat Service has spanned decades and with each passing year she has been inspired to reinvent her vision.
Her chosen subjects remain rooted in nature; a habit honed from her early days of painting en plein air in the majestic forests that blanket her home province of British Columbia. Trees have been a much loved and familiar image. This minimalist portrait of three trees pared down to an essential linear form pop from the canvas in a teal blue, golden yellow and ink black. Leaf-like forms drift beside them.
“I seek a new way to see what I have seen before, with playfulness, remainders of memories, and expansive space.” Pat Service
“…the animated gesture of the artist’s hand is present in every moment and at every turn. Pat service is adept at achieving a light touch with the boldest stroke.” Neil Wedman, artist
Pat Service acquired a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of B.C. and later studied art at the Glasgow School of Art in Scotland. Service’s work is held in private collections in North America, Britain, Taiwan, Japan, Singapore, and Hong Kong.
Pat Service is represented exclusively by Oeno Gallery.
