About Georges
This contemporary figurative tabletop sculpture is by Paul Duval. This charming series of indoor sculptures showcases Quebec artist Paul Duval’s skill in capturing the human ‘condition’ in simple form.
Each clay-coloured paper mache and wire sculpture possesses a distinctive personality expressed in a pose, a gesture, a mood. Georges is a lanky, lean male figure who stands, unadorned with both hands raised as if in conversation. He stands on a wooden base.
“Who are the witnesses of our daily life? I also try to make the viewer an integral part of the work as if their presence only adds dimension.” Paul Duval
