This impressionistic landscape painting of a tree is by a Canadian artist.

Peter Hoffer’s distinctive paintings of trees—this one a fruit tree in full blossom that stands alone in an open field -- are reminiscent of the Impressionist aesthetic. This piece is rendered in expressive brushstrokes in a soft color palette of melon, pinks, and brown/black against a backdrop of blue and green. Highly regarded for his romantic landscapes, the Canadian artist has created a series of tree portraits, each one appears to reflect a different character, and evoke a different mood.

Peter Hoffer holds an MFA from Concordia University and degrees from the University of Guelph and OCAD University. Hoffer has lived and worked in Toronto, New York City, Paris, Montreal, and Berlin. He has exhibited widely at art fairs in Basel, Toronto, New York, Stockholm, London, Milan, Amsterdam and Hong Kong. His paintings are held in many private, corporate, and public collections around the world.
