This contemporary mixed-media landscape featuring a tree is by Peter Hoffer.

Internationally recognized for his ethereal and romantic landscapes, Peter Hoffer has, in recent years, created a series of tree ‘portraits.’ Each composition focuses on a single species—in this case, a ‘phantome’ that appears centre stage on the canvas. This tree, rendered in deep pinks and burgundy is in full bloom—its beautiful colours set against the backdrop of a turquoise blue and pale yellow sky. Hoffer uses various signature techniques—marks, and scratches to add definitive character to each piece.

Peter Hoffer holds an MFA from Concordia University and degrees from the University of Guelph and OCAD University. Hoffer has lived and worked in Toronto, New York City, Paris, Montreal and Berlin. He has exhibited widely at art fairs in Basel, Toronto, New York, Stockholm, London, Milan, Amsterdam and Hong Kong. His paintings are held in many private, corporate and public collections around the world.
