The elegant, organic shape of Susan Collett’s ceramic vessels are reminiscent of exquisite forms found in nature. Collett manipulates paper clay by hand—twisting, squeezing and shaping it—the layers and curved channels spiralling upwards create a vessel with a lacey edge. This remarkable piece is mounted on a black steel plinth and comes with wiring so the interior can be filled with light.

She graduated with a BFA in printmaking and ceramics from the Cleveland Institute of Art and won the institute's prestigious Agnes Gund Memorial Award. Collett is a member of the International Academy of Ceramics and the Royal Canadian Academy of the Arts. She is a recipient of the Winifred Shantz Award from the Canadian Clay and Glass Gallery. Susan Collett's work can be found in numerous private and corporate collections.
