Here the exquisite, finely detailed embossed image of tree branches has a visible textural quality. The Canadian artist has an international reputation for creating superb ceramic work which is often inspired by natural form. Susan Collett graduated with a BFA in printmaking and ceramics from the Cleveland Institute of Art and won the institute's coveted Agnes Gund Memorial Award. Collett is a member of the International Academy of Ceramics and the Royal Canadian Academy of the Arts. She is a recipient of the Winifred Shantz Award from the Canadian Clay and Glass Gallery. She has exhibited in many international events including The Korean Biennale in 2024, the International Ceramic Art Fair at the Gardiner Museum in 2023, The Canadian Clay and Glass Gallery, 2023, Paper Clay Illuminated, USA touring 2020-21 and with group exhibitions in Chicago, NYC, Palm Beach and Toronto among others. Susan Collett's work can be found in numerous prestigious private and corporate collections including the Gardiner Museum of Ceramic Art in Toronto, the Keramik Kunst Museum in Germany, the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, the Sevres Porcelain Museum in Paris, The Kasturbhai Lalbhai Museum in India and the Canadian Ambassador’s Residence in Washington, DC.
