About Albus No 1
The eclectic contemporary artwork of Viktor Mitic has garnered him international attention. The Canadian artist’s recent series of abstract sculptures were inspired by the shapes and colours of paint splatters on his studio floor. Mitic took photos and sketches of the paint marks and, using a computer, re-imagined them as 3-D objects. Albus is carved from pristine white marble…each of the four pieces are stacked and assembled to form an elegant tower. Albus is a Latin term that means ‘white.’“You have to learn all the time, there’s no way you can say at whatever age that you know it all because you don’t.” Viktor Mitic
