Formidable and eye-catching, this outdoor sculpture is by Viktor Mitic known for his provocative contemporary artwork. This is one of a series of abstract ‘tower-like’ sculptures—each piece hand-forged in stainless steel and painted a shiny deep blue. The form is imaginative and playful; the result of the artist’s ability to envision what paint drippings from his studio floor would look like as sculptural objects. The colour is a bold choice—a signature of Mitic’s unique work.

Viktor Mitic was born in Serbia, emigrated to Canada and earned a BFA from the University of Toronto in 1995. He also later studied art history at Sheridan College. Mitic has exhibited his post-Pop inspired paintings, prints and colourful abstract sculptures at the Muramatsu Gallery in Tokyo, The Armory Show in NYC, Art Chicago and Toronto. His work is held in corporate, private, and public collections.
