About Southern Stripes 24-02
The fresh colours pop from the canvas, the design is graphic and modern, this is a new series by Viktor Mitic. Lime green, purple, orange, hot pink, turquoise, white and black form waves of ‘hot’ colours reminiscent of southern climates. The ‘free form’ appearance of each line of colour adds to the visual energy of each painting. Known for his playful, provocative and imaginative artwork, Mitic finds inspiration in the patterns he observes in everyday life. One of a series.
“I draw inspiration not only from everyday sources like beach towels but also from unexpected places. At the beginning, my exploration led me to DNA stripes and their striking similarity to the beach towels. The intricate patterns and uneven spaced blocks of color in DNA inspired me to create a series that captures the essence of vibrant, dynamic life.” Viktor Mitic
