This striking sculpture features a series of stacked geometric blocks—the shapes inspired by the pattern of paint splatterings found on his studio floor—the colours bold and contemporary, red and blue. The addition of electro-plated 24 kt. gold takes the finish of this sculpture to another level. Simply refined.

“In Europe, they teach you traditional techniques and to follow certain rules,” he says. But it’s not like that here, he adds. “You can throw it all away because you do the opposite of what you learned, which is amazing!” Viktor Mitic

Serbian-born Viktor Mitic earned a BFA from the University of Toronto in 1995 with studies in art history at Sheridan College. He has exhibited his post-Pop inspired paintings, prints and colourful abstract sculptures at the Muramatsu Gallery in Tokyo, The Armory Show in NYC, Art Chicago and in Toronto. His work is held in corporate, private, and public collections.
