Dale Dunning
7 April 2018 — 29 April 2018Oeno Gallery is pleased to present a solo exhibition of the inspired cast bronze, steel and aluminum sculptures by Canadian artist Dale Dunning. Using the head as a metaphor for human experience, Dunning's work reflects a romantic sensibility that recalls the gothic literature of Mary Shelley or the poetic drama of Greek mythology. Dale Dunning holds a Master of Fine Arts Degree (1971) from Cranbrook Academy of Art in Michigan. While earning his Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree (1969) from Mt. Alison University, he studied under Lawren P. Harris (son of Group of Seven member Lawren S. Harris) and George Tiessen. Dunning has exhibited across Canada and his work is held in private, corporate and public collections including the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, the Robert McLaughlin Gallery, McIntosh Gallery at Western University, Carleton University Art Collection, and the National Library of Canada.
