Biography
Yvonne Lammerich, AOCA, Ph.D. art history, born and raised in Germany, has lived in England, France and Canada since the 60’s, and is a recipient of the Maria Stafford Mid-Career prize from the Canada Council. She has exhibited nationally and internationally since the 1980s, including the first Quebec Biennale, MOCCA-Museum of Contemporary Canadian Art, the Southern Alberta Art Gallery and The Nunnery, London UK. Recent solo exhibitions include Occurrence Centre d’art contemporain and Hangar 7826/art actuel, both in Montreal.
Lammerich has written extensively on art, and her own artwork has been reviewed nationally and internationally, including Parachute Magazine and Art Press. Recent projects include a public art project in Suzhou and an exhibition in Shanghai (2016) as well as participation in the Bonavista Biennale (2019). Her work is in museums, corporate and private collections. The exhibition project Voices: artists on Art, co-authored with Ian Carr-Harris, has been presented at Artport, Toronto, the SAAG, Lethbridge AB, and Zayed University UAE. The hardcover comprehensive catalogue “Voices: artists on Art” was published in the fall of 2020 and represents 51 visual artists across Canada and can be purchased at the National Gallery.
